Track Descriptions

  • Join us for this fast-paced class where you will learn TCBC’s Level 1 balboa curriculum in two days from our local dance instructors.

    Our goal is to teach you the fundamental moves of balboa so that you can get out on the dance floor and have fun ASAP!

    We recommend that you have at least one year of experience taking progressive social dance classes (e.g., lindy hop, blues, west coast swing, bachata, salsa, Arg. tango, zouk, ballroom, etc.) and are comfortable learning new rhythms and dance steps quickly.

  • Intermediate classes will be taught by our guest instructors — Irina & Blake, and Natalia & Jacob!

    The classes in this track will teach you new moves and increase your balboa vocabulary, help you make the dance comfier for you and your partner, and provide avenues for unleashing your creativity through balboa!

    Prior to joining this class, intermediate balboa dancers are expected to be able to execute both the up-hold and down-hold basics, out-and-ins, lollies, promenade, and basic toss-outs.

  • Advanced classes will be also taught by our guest instructors — Irina & Blake, and Natalia & Jacob!

    The Advanced Track is for dancers that have mastered common balboa basics, moves, and stylings and are ready to dig into the nuance of balboa. These classes may cover more complex or less common moves, as well as explore the subtler details of partner connection and technique.

    Admittance to the Advanced Track requires placement via an Audition. More info TBA.

    Qualifications (at least one must apply to be invited):

    • You teach balboa locally

    • You lead an open balboa practice group

    • You organize a balboa event
